3 Signs Of A Healthy Relationship

If you have never experienced a healthy relationship, it’s going to be very difficult to recognize what that may look or feel like. To the individual that has only been in toxic relationships, you can be very addicted to the up and down roller coaster of emotional chaos that these relationships bring. If you happen to be lucky enough to find a partner that is a self aware, healthy individual this could be the beginning of a beautiful journey of what love is supposed to feel like.

It’s important to know what to look for, because your mind is trained to look for what is familiar, not what is unfamiliar. Meaning that a healthy relationship could feel very uncomfortable at first, because your mind is seeking the normalcy of your past relationships.

When it comes to relationships, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Everyone has different needs and wants in a relationship, but there are some common signs that can help you determine if yours is healthy or not.

3 signs of a healthy relationship:

Open Communication

An important part of any relationship is the ability to talk openly and honestly with your partner. A healthy relationship should have open lines of communication between both partners and it should be easy for them to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or criticism. That includes talking about difficult topics, such as money or sex. If your partner isn’t willing to have an open dialogue with you, then this could be a sign that your relationship isn't as healthy as it should be.

Mutual Respect

No one likes to feel like they're being taken advantage of—especially in a romantic relationship! Mutual respect means treating each other with kindness, understanding, and consideration for each other's feelings. It also means listening when the other person speaks and validating each other’s opinions even if you don't agree with them. If either person is constantly belittling the other or disregarding their opinions, then this could be a sign that something is off in the relationship.

Trust & Honesty

Trust is essential in any healthy relationship; without trust, it’s impossible to build a strong bond between two people. Trust doesn’t just mean believing what your partner tells you; it also means having faith that they won’t cheat on you or do anything else to betray your trust. And honesty goes hand-in-hand with trust; if either partner isn't honest about their feelings or intentions, then this could be a sign that something isn't quite right in the relationship.

Ultimately, every healthy relationship looks different because everyone's needs are different. But these three signs can help you determine whether yours is on track or if there are areas where you need to make improvements. Take the time to really consider how your partner makes you feel; if they leave you feeling positive and supported more often than not, chances are that your relationship is space for healthy growth and intimate connection!

Everyone deserves a healthy love, and know that this is possible for you!
